UPDATES FROM MYSELF & SIMON FARROW RE: THE ELDERLY MAN WHO WAS EVICTED FROM HIS HOME ON 23/11/20133

Dear Readers,

We would all like to take this time in thanking everyone for all your overwhelming comments and support. As you would have read, that Simon have given all the details involved and proof concerning the elderly man who was evicted from his home by a private landlady, which is very true. As Simon has all the proof as he was witness to the eviction. We have endeavored to answer mostly some comments, with the huge amount of comments running into thousands. Which we did not expect at all. As we are Not Journalists at all, we are ordinary disabled activists campaigning on the grassroots, telling it as it is in our back streets so to speak and getting the word out where it matters! We get hundreds of emails a day from the sick, disabled, vulnerable in dispare asking for help.  As this happens each and every day and the mainstream media refuses to report, as the media in most forms are Torified. But, many of you say Cameron is not to blame, we beg to differ, as it was Cameron, IDS, Osbourne who indeed set in place that the landlords can do what they wish, and cam charge what they like, no matter to the tenant, whether they be sick, disabled, elderly, vulnerable, low paid etc…and they don’t give A’TOS.

There are 70+ sick, disabled, terminally ill, unemployed, vulnerable people who die each day! Which drop through the safety nets. They have be pushed into suicide as not way out as there money has been cut, with no money for food, no heating, no care, housing benefit caps and bedroom tax, due to the governments crul welfare cuts, specifically aimed at the sick, disabled, poor, vulnerable society right across this country, and Simon says right under your noses and in your back streets and back yards. This is why Simon wrote his article. As it is Simon and his amazing team who go out each and every day giving hot meals to the homeless in Norwich, where the elderly man was found homeless after being thrown out of his home. But we all know the story, and the full details as we were all given. Thankfully the man is re-homed by his local council, and The People’s Picnic who work with the homeless each day in the Norwich area, they will be in contact with his and no doubt there will be any further updates if need in The People’s Picnic group on Facebook.

I am in constant communication with Simon and the team. We posted the first update earlier, after many comments and tweets. Bless you and thank you. Many of you have asked for further details we will get them out as we are given wh8ch Simon Farrow has done so many times within most of the comments.

This was the first update we posted earlier November 23, 2013 at 2:23 pm

I have just been in The People’s Picnic and there is an update there on the elderly gentleman as told by another homeless person. Apparently he was kept in 8ver night in a police cell. Then sent to the local council offices where they found him a room! Although we are worried and very concerned that he will turn up again out again out in this horrendous cold weather looking for food.TO BE CONTINUED…

This original article below was written by Simon Farrow (The Peoples Picnic) Who do excellent work for the homeless and vulnerable bless you and thank for all you hard work. Keep up the good work.

Bless you and thank you Simon for writing the article to be shared which needed to be shared I haven’t stopped crying as my heart called out for this poor guy being treated in this barbaric way, being an ex-carer on ward for many years in the NHS caring and looking after people. Never in all my years in the caring Profession have I come across this, in this day and age the 21st Century which is despicable and unacceptable. I have written your response to post as quoted by your kind self and stand in Solidarity with you and you you do.

I will be checking in with Simon for any further updates…

We as a Nation together should stand to together against Austerity and be ready to help others who need our help. And as neighbours to our elderly, poor, sick, disabled and vulnerable this can happen to anyone young or old, and is happening each and every day as 70 sick, disabled, unemployed and homeless are pushed into dire poverty and onto the streets or suicide. But when it comes to ours “Elders” this has got to be stopped now.

So fucking angry right now!!! As some of you may know I spare some of my time on a Tuesday to help out a good cause The peoples Picnic who provide a warm meal for those who are homeless or in need all out of their own pockets and some donations of food. Well over the weeks I have seen a mixture of people turn up for support, yes some have drink, drug and mental health issues, but for many they are purely a victim of circumstance. There have been mothers turn up because they can’t afford to put a hot meal on the table, and more and more lately I have been seeing old people turn up, some are homeless, some of them have homes but have old school ethics and pay their extortionate bills before buying themselves food!! What the fuck is this country / government coming to when tonight I see a man well into his 80’s, homeless because he is a victim of rising rent prices which the council wouldn’t meet, and so got behind and has been evicted onto the street by unscrupulous landlords [who for doing that should be named and shamed] , he was found by another homeless person scavenging through bins for food, with nothing but the close on his back, soaked to the bone, not even a coat..This poor man was so skinny and frail he really looked on deaths door. One of the other homeless people gave up their hot meal so he could have it, and offered to share their doorstep and blankets with him!!! Why is this government not looking after its own first before the needs of foreign refugee’s and victims of natural disasters in foreign countries, yes I feel sorry for these peoples plights, but surely it must be a case of looking after our own first!! This man probably fought in the war for this country, and here he is discarded by society and swept under the mat!!! Something really needs to be done…but what? please share this post so people can see what is going on right under their noses in their own backyards.

  1. Totally shocking that camron can let this happen , stop Making other countries important and look at state of your own

  2. All of us with any decensey we all stand up and unite as a caring nation and will not be put down by barbaric trators intent to destroy us and our country,we will rise up and have our revenge on these people and oust them out to select our true leaders,to bring back the backbone and integrity and bring back the great in great britain!!

    1. Hi Linda, We believe the man has been found a bedsit, however we are yet to confirm this, authorities are a little sketchy giving us any information.

  3. This is beyond belief!!!! cant we arrange a huge protest in London?? im sure it would halt much traffic etc due to the sheer quantity of people taking part!!!! This Government need shooting!!!

  4. This is getting out of hand now why can’t people just look after their own country and help their own people everybody is struggling it is absolutely sad that money comes first well I’m
Sorry but not in my eyes yes it helps pay bills but it can’t by love and there are people’s health that’s suffering people on the streets it’s cruel at the end of the day but then some people wouldn’t know what it’s like to struggle suffer etc coz they got plenty of money and so on I feel so sorry for that gentleman :,( I can’t even put into words how I really feel also the system is completely run wrong and what I can’t understand the prices on things are going up and up but our wages ain’t so I am not surprised that people are losing their houses cars struggling etc because its all getting out of hand now and if I could afford to I would help as many people as I could. Mad world, there is so much I could say but there is no point as nothing is going to change and make the world a better place its just getting worse and worse absolutely sicking and heart breaking …………..

  5. In answer to Simon, I believe in all you have said, and would hope that the uk could have a vote of no confidence in the present govement theese heartless people are destroying the lives of many british citizens who have been born and bred in this country! And some who have fought in are many wars and are now living and sleeping rough and not getting suport from our goverment when our wounded solijers come home! This goverment stinks! And it needs to be re assessed.

  6. So sad sitting here reading of this poor mans plight I have been waiting 4 year for council house and am paying extortionate rent to private landlord while people from other countries are housed before me but this makes me ao fukn angry this man and many like him fought for the likes of Cameron and this is how he treats them x

  7. I work within the care system and over the las 5 years plus the changes are mad , people (elderly) have to pay for cleaning and shopping if they carnt afford it and have no family they live in filth and dont eat ! they have to pay for care they recieve if they pass a points system! if they dont they are left to struggle , its a disgrace and alot of the elderly still wont except help all the work they put into this country for politics , oil , religion to spoil the last of there days and then if they are lucky enough to get into an old people home they get abused mmmm what is this country coming to??

  8. Can someone send me some details of how to help this poor man out. Im absolutley disgusted at the way the landlord, hes local counci and the goverment have treated this man. I would like to help anyway that I can.

  9. Time for a revolution! But this country is so bloody apathetic will it happen? Cameron keeps doing what he is doing because he knows the majority are drugged up on happy pills and TV and just cannot see the danger that we are all in. In Portugal even the POLICE are out protesting on the streets.

  10. This is a simple example of the government carrying out the orders of American Corporations and banks. NHS, retired, disabled, etc. Anyone not working like a slave for peanuts or working for very long hours and in plenty of debt is no longer required.
It began with Thatcher who was told how to turn UK into a debt slave society. Out of town shopping centre’s so buy a car and use fuel. Buy a house and keep repainting and re-furnishing it.Remove small business and high street shops and allow only chain stores and multinationals in. Provide easy credit. Then they claim the country is rich. On debt !
It fell apart and so they started wars based on lies to steal and reclaim their lost billions. That went wrong also and faked 9/11 millions died.Millions more will too in the UK and USA unless the people wake up!

No conspiracy I reported on it during the 19080’s and have watched the catastrophe enfold ever since.

This is a deliberate human cull. By idiots who think they are clever !

  11. i would give him a room poor gentlemen, i would love to know of these places where i could donate food and blankets to the homeless, i would also volunteer serving meals, please say whether this man has been helped.

  12. God is looking down and saying come onto me little children , the sick the old, but don’t pay your rent and your out ! Caring world we are when we can raise money for charity’s and no one minds , but to put money in tax and where it is needed we struggle with a morale of why should we ? Forgotten people being lost in the system of bureaucrat and making harder and harder for old and vunerable to jump though the hoops and we wonder why so many people are being made homeless and really how much more money is that cost to society is much more in the long run .

  13. How does everyone feel about a rise on income tax, VAT, and some other taxes for everybody, i clarify EVERYBODY including myself so the gov have more money to spend on the homeless sick and poor?
I suspect that should this of happeneds and this was titled ‘government robbing us all again’
these exact same people would be saying completely different thing.
i would also believe that many of the commenters will have at somepoint walked past a homeless person and not done anything whatsover, not given food or water or anything. Im not sitting on a high horse as i have many times walked past a homeless person and done nothing.

    1. Instead of upin the vat or our taaxs again why don’t the government take a pay cut along with cutting the bankers bounus. That would help the homeless and the elderly.

    2. If we stopped up the loopholes companies like Starbucks and Google use ot export their tax liabilities the extra tax would pay for a lot of the Social Security budget.

  14. Obviously I am shocked by the case you reported on above. This sort of thing shouldn’t happen in what is often described as the seventh richest country in the world. The continued austerity, which Cameron wants to make permanent and Balls announced in June (instead of letting Labour’s conference in September democratically decide the matter) would continue for at least the first year of a Labour government, requires a socialist solution. I’m a member of Left Unity which has its founding conference next Saturday and presents the best opportunity for achieving socialism.

Divide-and-rule is the main strategy of big business and the Tories and I am disturbed by the racism in the article by Simon Farrow you quoted (and some of the comments above): “Why is this government not looking after its own first before the needs of foreign refugee’s and victims of natural disasters in foreign countries, yes I feel sorry for these peoples plights, but surely it must be a case of looking after our own first!!” I’m very sceptical about the ConDems’ motivations for sticking to the Blair/Brown agreement at Gleneagles (they seem to want to deliberately stoke up racism by increasing foreign aid and they link it to trade including arms sales, even to dictators that the UK could potentially go to war with later) – but the mass movement around “Make Poverty History” was definitely a good thing! The willingness of ordinary working and lower middle class people, some of whom are short of money themselves, to donate to poorer people around the world in their times of need show that the British people are not as racist as some make out (or papers like the Daily Mail and Sun try to encourage, aided and abetted by the 3 main parties plus Ukip).

The stuff about fighting in the second world war was pure speculation – if he’s 80 then he’d have been 12 when it ended (in 1945). There’s not even any evidence that he’s British! The report said “This man probably fought in the war for this country” which is typical of right-wing arguments – that soldiers fight for (queen and) country, rather than some nobler cause. I’d argue that WW2 was the only war worth fighting in history since it was to avoid world fascism (which might have been permanent). Sometimes politicians justify the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq by saying they are to save the ordinary masses in those countries (which they’ve not done a very good job of to put it mildly) but whenever a soldier dies, they always talk about them fighting for their country.

    1. The peoples Picnic would like to state that although we agree with the majority of Mr Farrows account..His views on immigration and foreign aid are his own and not shared by the peoples picnic..We help anyone in need regardless of race, religion or nationality…

  15. Dear God, how can this be going on in 2013. They need to take care of our own first before giving outside the country. Im all for helping other places but not when this is going on with our own. Wish him & others well & hope they get some help. THERE FOR THE GRACE GO I………..

  16. This man is 80 years old. He has lived his life. He is old, frail and obviously degraded. This is not how anyone should live out the last years of their life. He will probably have another 5 – 10 years of life. I’d like to propose that we establish a monthly fund for this man. If we have 2500 people donate 50p a month or 1250 donate 1 pound a month we can easily let this man have a good life, every month for the next 5 – 10 years. I am willing to do it every month and hope others will follow.

Please let me know how I can find out more about this man. Where he is. How he is. Where he is getting money form if any at all. What his situation is now and how I can get in contact with him to organize this.

50p to 1 pound from everyone, once a month and this poor old man will be able to rent a place, buy food, have warmth, comfort and peace into his elder years.

Anyone interested please write me at xuan@esoterictaoism.com so we can figure out how to help this guy more permanently.

  17. Lets all spare a thought for our poor politicians this christmas..sitting there in their massive houses eating the best, drinking the best all at our expense cosy and warm well fed..and their children with their ipads..xboxe,s and the like, lets all stand together and wish them the merriest of christmases, whilst we freeze…go without and generally worry ourselves to death about where the next meal is coming from…MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ME AND EVERY OTHER POOR F**KER PROGRESSIVE GOVERNMENTS HAVE SHAFTED.

    1. I hope the Tory Government all choke on their turkeys, especially Ian Duncan-Smith, Cameron, etc. I hope they all fall on hard times one day in the future, then they will know how they have ruined peoples lives. They should all be brought before the Court of Human Rights in The Hague.

      1. Hi there Moira we have all the contact details and addresses for the Court of Human Rights in the Hague, a special UN rapporteur on Disability has already visited the UK on the 25th November we are unsure how long he will be here. But he is requesting everyone’s stories for his report to the Court of Human Rights in the Hague. We also have his phone number and email address to We will check the dates etc for you, will get back to you on this.We have written our story/testimony and send to him personally. In Solidarity! xx

  18. I am ashamed of what this country has become – it is run by pampered oiks just out of nappies with no idea of the real world!

  19. There are a few things not mentioned here … Firstly did this incident take part in this country? (England) Secondly was this individual evicted legally or illegally by their landlord? Thirdly there is much more going on before this event. I believe you need to be more then two months behind (arrears) in your rent before the landlord can evict you legally. There is sadly no age limit to these rules. I fear a generation of people out there who do not ask for help or inform people about their position until they arrive at hospital. (Where it’s the hospital’s duty to find out a persons living conditions before returning them home.) It is those who never attend hospital are the greatest of concern as there appears to be no organisation running checks on those over the retirement age. In this country (England) we the people need to speak out when there are concerns regarding our financial position, even if we are of an ilk not risen to such actions. Blame? No one is to blame, but we are all responsible, but it would be difficult to walk up to someone and ask they how they are doing as they will always say fine until you find out too late that it wasn’t. So what’s the answer …
difficult one as for what system we could put in place … There will be people unwilling to use it.

    1. @Paul…Simon has already posted all the info, details etc on his main post concerning the man who was evicted who has been homed and the People’s Picnic are in communication with the gentleman. The blog I have written here is to thank Simon and his team and The Peoples Picnic for their updates which can be found on their facebook page. But thank you for your comment.
