SCRAP ATOS – End The Work Capability Assessment 10,000 Cuts & Counting: http://10kcuts.org/

Parliament Square, London. 12.00 noon. A Ceremony of Remembrance and Solidarity for those who have had their lives devastated by the austerity programme, including more than 10,000 people who died shortly after undergoing the ATOS-run Work Capability Assessment, the degrading test used by the government to assess the needs of people receiving benefits related to disability and ill health.
Disabled people are leading the fight back as the injustices of austerity: we cannot stand idly by while our communities and institutions are devastated by this government.
To all who would have liked to but are unable to attend – you are in our thoughts and hearts.

Gospel Choir:
Lord, I will lift mine eyes to the hills
Knowing my help is coming from Especially for You
Your peace you gave me in time of the storm.

You are the source of my strength
You are the strength of my life
I lift my hands in total praise to you
Amen.
(Psalms)

REMEMBRANCE SPEECH By Joshua & Lizzie 28/09/2013
As we are gathered here on this day, let us not forget the ones who have gone before us, the people who have died as a result of this cruel, inhumane and despicable government. Let us not forget that it is the intention of this government to silence those who are vulnerable, especially the sick, disabled as well as the unemployed. We have all heard the horror stories of people being pushed into breaking point and beyond by this government and many have paid the ultimate sacrifice, that of giving their lives and it is for this reason that we gather here today to remember them with respect and dignity. We are aslo here to remember the ones who are still suffering the onslaught benefit cuts that were instigated by this government and are still ongoing today! We cannot and must not let them grind us down into the ground so that they can walk over us.According to the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights, we have certain inalienable rights. It is about time we started using them.

This government will not be in power forever, no matter what other people may try and tell you.

In 2015, a new government will take power away from this one and hopefully together we can rebuild this shattered country.

As V said in the film V for Vendetta “PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF THE GOVERNMENT, THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE AFRAID OF THE PEOPLE”
